Mindful living: staying close to what you actually value

Mindful living is not a lifestyle but a habit of noticing. Three small exercises that genuinely matter.

Mindful living: staying close to what you actually value

Mindful living sounds big. In practice it is small: noticing what happens while it happens, and occasionally choosing something other than autopilot.

Why attention fades

Not from lack of will, but from pace. When days resemble each other, nothing needs noticing. Which is why reflection works best with a fixed, small moment.

Three exercises

  1. One sentence a day. What was real today, in one sentence. Do not make it prettier.
  2. One question a week. For example: where did I say yes while meaning no?
  3. One look back a month. Reread your sentences. The pattern is usually already there.
